Backend Software Engineer (.NET · Azure) — Poland / Madrid, Spain · EMEA
I build scalable .NET backend systems for enterprise & e-commerce, founded Aurelius & CopilotScope, and hold an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Warsaw University of Technology.
Software Engineer (M.Sc. Eng.) actively delivering commercial projects across fintech, retail, SaaS, and public-sector domains. Deep expertise in C#, .NET, and Azure; equally comfortable in greenfield microservices and large-scale legacy modernisation.
I integrate AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, LLM APIs) daily to accelerate delivery quality and velocity. Founded Aurelius — an AI governance & workflow automation platform with a Multi-Agent Simulation Whiteboard, prompt version control, and a community marketplace. MVP complete with 3 frontend apps, 7 microservices, and production-ready Azure deployment.
M.Sc. researcher in LLM-powered Multi-Agent Systems at Warsaw University of Technology (Poland's top polytechnic), with publications in Electronics, IEEE/ACM ASE, and MDAI conferences. Developed CogniSim — a cognitive multi-agent simulation for AI-driven Agile project management.
Based in Poland / Madrid, Spain (EU citizen, eligible for Swiss B permit under EU/EFTA). Currently working at an energy trading company in Madrid; available from October 2026.
Outside of engineering, I'm deeply passionate about mountain engineering — tackling demanding alpine routes and high-altitude treks — as well as competitive squash and precision archery. I also love train travel — I've crossed the United States coast-to-coast 4 times by Amtrak, experiencing the country's vast landscapes from the rails. I also genuinely love reading books, especially literature that expands perspective and critical thinking. These pursuits shape my discipline, focus, and resilience both on and off the keyboard.
The bottleneck isn’t generation anymore — it’s workflow design. Aurelius is the system of record for the prompts that drive business outcomes: versioned, attributed, and reproducible. Plus a Multi-Agent Simulation Whiteboard for visually designing orchestrated AI workflows with guardrails — delivering 70–90% lower token costs and dramatically higher reliability.
The projects I actively maintain — AI tooling, developer infrastructure, and educational .NET content. Each one is public, licensed, and documented with what is finished alongside what is not.
An architecture constitution for .NET Aspire on Fly.io and Azure — fifteen principles and seventeen operational guides, readable as documentation and installable as agent plugins for Claude Code, Copilot and VS Code.
A spec-first evaluation bench for tool-using agents: YAML scenarios graded over the execution trace, a deterministic layer that gates every pull request, and a rubric judge that reports skipped rather than green without credentials.
The same method applied to a hybrid search ranker: a behaviour contract written before the pipeline, 28 scenarios and 128 assertions — 22% of them asserting that something was never even a candidate.
AI coding-session observability — an OTLP collector with a hand-written protobuf decoder, a Postgres store, and a Blazor dashboard that scores session quality rather than token spend, across five assistants.
Session forensics for coding agents: a skill that turns a session’s own transcript into token, timing and conversation-shape analytics with a visual timeline. The script does every calculation — the model never does arithmetic.
A standalone auth microservice for ASP.NET Core: JWT with rotating refresh tokens and reuse detection, RS256 with published JWKS, OAuth with provider-side email verification, and an append-only audit log.
A warehousing system carried from a 2018 .NET Framework solution to three .NET 10 services: a finite number pool with exclusions, a notification service absorbed from a second repository, and CI that fails a model drifted from its migrations.
What the constitution produces when pointed at an empty repository: one Aspire composition root, a shared kernel with its ceiling enforced in CI, a Next.js surface reading config per request, and eight workflows — with no domain model, deliberately.
The supercompensation curve — fatigue, recovery, overshoot — carried from sport over to Agile sprints, as a Blazor WebAssembly app with the model’s formulas written out so the arithmetic can be checked without reading the code.
Forty-three repositories are catalogued in the portfolio map — bilingual, with a consolidation analysis and an operating model behind them. The rest live at github.com/konradcinkusz.
Backend .NET development for energy-trading services on Azure.
Built distributed .NET backend services with EF Core on Azure SQL for a Spanish partner. Set up Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and delivered migration proofs of concept.
Modernised the backend of a UK grocery e-commerce platform: refactored an ASP.NET MVC monolith into modular .NET services backed by EF Core on SQL Server and Oracle. Established Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines with automated test gates. Sector: convenience-retail for food & FMCG.
Delivered a Microsoft Teams omni-channel contact-centre SaaS with .NET, CQRS, and SignalR real-time messaging on Azure microservices. Applied DDD to decouple the core telephony domain from the MS Graph integration layer. Sector: cloud telephony & customer-engagement SaaS.
Designed ASP.NET Core microservices processing retail analytics for 1 000+ stores; internal B2B ordering system and CMS. SQL Server data pipelines and Azure DevOps releases with zero-downtime rolling updates. Sector: drug-store retail.
Return engagement after TME. Banking CRM and pharmacy-sector workflow applications. Stack: C#, ASP.NET MVC & Web Forms, K2, MS SQL Server, Web API, Git/TFS.
WPF parcel-tracking suite “Conveyor”; CUDA-accelerated product recognition with OpenCV & TensorFlow and real-time telemetry services. Sector: global electronics-components distribution.
Workflow applications for the pharmacy sector on K2 blackpearl; banking CRM; Warsaw city e-documents portal. 2016–2017: placed at the Polish Ministry of Defence — document-flow system for sapper work registration using DevExpress XAF (C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, WPF, LINQ, IIS). Industries: pharma, finance, public administration, government.
Proof-of-concept mobile application using Oracle Mobile Application Framework (MAF). Java SE 8, Oracle MAF, ADF Mobile. Sector: enterprise software & cloud.
Currently working at an energy trading company in Madrid — actively seeking my next senior .NET / backend engineering role from October 2026. I bring hands-on .NET expertise, a research background in multi-agent AI, and the strategic perspective of a founder who has shipped real products.
EU citizen — eligible for the Swiss B permit under the EU/EFTA agreement. Based in Poland & Madrid; open to on-site relocation across Europe / EMEA. Fluent in English and Polish.
Full-time or long-term contract. Ideal for companies building complex distributed systems who need a .NET architect who can also lead technically.
Technical co-founder or CTO-as-a-service for early-stage ventures. Particularly interested in AI tooling, developer tools, and B2B SaaS.
Short-term engagements for microservices architecture review, cloud migration strategy, or .NET modernisation of legacy systems.
Open to investor conversations, enterprise pilot partnerships, and integration collaborations around the Aurelius platform.
